Autumn Spice Cake with Gluten-free Vanilla Mix

As the weather cools and autumn flavors fill the air, nothing feels more comforting than a soft, fragrant spice cake. Using our Gluten-free Vanilla Cake Mix from Treat Me , we’ve added a cozy blend of spices and finished it with a simple spiced sugar drizzle. It’s the perfect seasonal twist—warm, aromatic, and ideal for gatherings or a quiet cup of tea.

Ingredients (for the cake)

  •  1 pack Gluten-free Vanilla Cake Mix
  •  Ingredients as listed on the vanilla cake mix package (oil, milk, eggs or apple sauce)
  •  1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  •  ½ tsp ground ginger
  •  ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  •  ¼ tsp ground cloves (optional, for deeper spice)

Spiced Sugar Drizzle

  •  1 cup powdered sugar
  •  2–3 tbsp milk (or plant-based milk)
  •  ½ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1.  Preheat oven as directed on the cake mix package.
  2.  In a bowl, prepare the vanilla cake mix with the required ingredients.
  3.  Stir in the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Mix until just combined.
  4. Pour into a greased or lined cake pan and bake according to package directions.
  5. While the cake cools, whisk together the powdered sugar and the cinnamon, then add the milk gradually until smooth and slightly thick pourable sauce is formed.
  6.  Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the spiced glaze generously over the top.
  7.  Optional garnish: sprinkle with chopped pecans, walnuts, or a little extra cinnamon.
